I spent an inordinately long chunk of the day writing up my 2022 Q3 weekly plan of action - I do this every three months to get ahead of my ADHD. It helps, but it's very tedious - and I don't have a finished article to throw up on here tonight.
So, I figured I'd take a moment to say something about what I've got in the hopper that I'm working on that will be up on here and Secessio Populi in the coming weeks:
Part three of From whence shall we expect the approach of danger? will be done in a few days. I will be glad to be done with it. I'm tired of looking at or talking about the idea of a second U.S. civil war and am annoyed at the U.S. Supreme Court for making it relevant.
I plan on getting some movement profiles up on S.P. this quarter. I envision something like what Nationalia does on their site, except less encyclopedia-like and more story-driven.
I have a few Scottish independence movement pieces that I need to finish up. So, that something will be up on that very soon. Not gonna lie, Indyref2 kinda bores me, and it’s overcovered, IMO. I am looking forward to seeing how it develops, it’s just not very exciting to me.
If I don't get any Quebec content up this quarter, I will throw my computer out of a window and run screaming into the woods. I've been meaning to do that for so long at this point.
Alberta Separatism and Texas Secession deserve an article each. But, I've been avoiding these as I hate chasing trending topics. The Alberta stuff is poorly reported even in Canada, so I might start there and wait for the Texas opinion pieces to die a little.
Indigenous sovereignty issues have been heavily on my radar of late. Mostly, in the form of the U.S. Supreme Court's genocide by 1000 court rulings approach to undoing U.S. federal recognition of native national sovereignty. This topic is tricky, I want to do it justice, so I need to take my time and source indigenous sources on it. Add to that the complication of differing - though very similar - legal histories regarding Tribal national sovereignty between the United States and Canada, and it's slightly more complicated to describe than it might seem at first glance.
I'm still fishing for a decent Cascadia or Jefferson story to work with. I hope that some of the Cascadia folks get some sort of event together following the overturning of Roe. Many of them seem interested in doing so, but interest and actions are two widely divergent things sometimes.
After all this, I need to get off the North American continent in content for a while. It's a great place, but everybody has already seen Americans talking about America. I won't go into where the focus will be, but I have some ideas.
Anyway, that's where my head is at with this. If anyone reading this has any suggestions or requests, feel free to leave a comment. I'm open to looking where I'm not at the moment. It's a fun journey, digging into a lot of this stuff. I’m looking forward to getting moving on a lot of these and a few other topics very soon.
